This is such a great place to walk around.  Artists live in rooms built into this old brewery, and every room is different in size and shape. Some have 20-foot-high ceilings, some have great views, and some used to be loading docks and so have walls that roll up.

It’s Apple Pickin’ Time In Oak Glen!

The town of Oak Glen is up above Beaumont and below Big Bear in the San Bernardino Mountains.  At this time of year, we Los Angelinos can actually experience that mythical season that sometimes appears between winter and summer.   There are orchards and arts/crafts and pumpkins and bar-b-ques.  The biggest orchard, Riley’s Los Rios Rancho, is just east of town, and has quite a bit of parking.  We apple aficionados check this schedule to see when varieties like winesap and Arkansas black are ripe:

Words of Caution: on Saturdays and Sundays in October and November this place is packed, and the road is one lane in each direction.  It really helps to go early in the day.  By noon, there is a long line of cars, and it is difficult to park in the town of Oak Glen
