Quartzsite!

Quartzsite, AZ.

For 9 months, population 1000.

For 1 month, 20000+.

That month is January - when all the nomadic RV crusaders return from their ventures through the great United States and descend on this little CA border town to trade the crap they have accumulated through the year.  While you can always find tools and accessories to augment or maintain the mobile land yacht, the bulk of the the commerce is themed.

During January, you cannot walk 5 feet without finding some rock or mineral treasure.  The largest rock and mineral show in the US occurs in February in Tuscon AZ.  It is here in Quartzsite that all the last minute swapping and bargaining is  done before the big show.

After January, the town mostly turns to displaying and bartering various AMAZING craft wares.  From quilts to metalworks to paintings, the RV dwellers with more artistic sides take over and begin to trade and sell their crap after the rockhounds move East.

By March, it will once again be a sleepy little town of 1000 people.
